Experience the magic of Sichuan Opera at Chengdu's most beloved traditional theater, Shufeng Yayun Garden. The show features the world-famous face-changing (Bian Lian) art, where performers change masks in the blink of an eye, alongside fire-spitting, comedy skits, and traditional music.
Face-changing is a unique Sichuan Opera art form listed as a Chinese National Intangible Cultural Heritage. Performers change masks in fractions of a second using secret techniques passed down through generations. The show also includes 'rolling lamps' comedy, puppet shows, and traditional Sichuan music played on the erhu and suona.
Performed in a beautiful traditional tea house setting, the experience includes a complimentary cup of Sichuan tea. The intimate atmosphere lets you appreciate every detail of the elaborate costumes, expressive gestures, and vocal techniques that define Sichuan Opera.
