1 Day Beijing City Tour

Your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Beijing at 8:30 AM. Start your day at Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world, where you can see the Monument to the People's Heroes, the Great Hall of the People, and the Mausoleum of Chairman Mao.

Then walk to the Forbidden City (Palace Museum), the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties for over 500 years. Explore the magnificent halls, courtyards, and gardens along the central axis, including the Hall of Supreme Harmony, the Hall of Central Harmony, and the Imperial Garden.

After lunch at a local restaurant, climb Jingshan Park just north of the Forbidden City for a panoramic view of the entire palace complex and Beijing's central axis. The hilltop pavilion offers the best photo opportunity of the golden roof tiles.

In the afternoon, visit Beihai Park, one of the oldest and best-preserved imperial gardens in China, featuring the iconic White Dagoba on Jade Flower Isle and a scenic lake. Optionally, take a boat ride on the lake (seasonal, extra cost).

End the day with a stroll through Shichahai (Houhai) area, a historic district with hutongs, courtyard houses, and lively bars and restaurants along the lake. Your guide will recommend a local dinner spot before dropping you back at your hotel around 6:00 PM.
