Drive to Ganden Monastery (4,300m), one of the three great Gelugpa monasteries. Begin the Ganden-Samye trek, camp at first camp (4,500m).

Cross Shugu La Pass (5,200m) with panoramic views. Descend to the Yamdrok Lake side. Overnight camping.

Complete the trek to Samye Monastery, Tibet's first monastery. Visit Drak Yerpa, the famous meditation caves. Drive back to Lhasa. Overnight Lhasa.
